The Leipzig connection
Dream Machine Team
“Software made with love in Leipzig” is more than a footer line for us. Leipzig is where dreammachine began, where we work, and where many of the questions behind our products first appear. The city is not just a backdrop; it shapes how we build.
Leipzig can feel compact and surprisingly wide at the same time. A band rehearses in one courtyard, an exhibition opens two streets away, and a small festival is planned by the canal. Much of the city’s creative life depends on people sharing rooms, knowledge, and the confidence to try something.
A city of many small centres
The local scene is spread across clubs, theatres, workshops, universities, associations, and temporary spaces. That makes it lively, but difficult to follow. Good events disappear between flyers, social feeds, and separate calendars.
kulturradar grew from that observation. It is not meant to be a complete directory or a ranking machine. It offers a personal route into local culture: tell the radar what interests you, and it finds events that may fit—sometimes just outside your usual path.
Leipzig is the right starting point because we know these routes ourselves. We see how quickly programmes change and how different a “good tip” can be from one person to another. That proximity reminds us that culture is more than a dataset.
Local roots, open thinking
The city also influences dreammachine. Projects here rarely follow a straight line. They grow through encounters, shared tools, and people choosing to believe in something together for a while.
We want to support that kind of collaboration without smoothing away its character. Leipzig is a good test: large enough for many perspectives, close enough for honest feedback, and independent enough to question easy answers.
